Teachers 50

Creating celebratory packaging for an international whisky brand.

Brand Story
As an archetype of premium Scotch, Teacher’s is thriving in the world’s second-largest whisky market, India. Teachers is a staple in this market delivering luxury and quality.

The Challenge
Teachers approached us to design a celebratory pack for the 25th anniversary of the best-selling Teachers 50. Teachers 50 was originally released to celebrate 50 years of Indian independence.

My Responsibilities

Premium for an Indian Audience
Throughout the design process, we were conscious to keep in mind what premium means for an Indian audience and how this is different from our idea in Europe. From working with the client and native Indians we created a mood board which guided us to a gold, loud and bold aesthetic that could cut through the crowded and busy whiskey market.

The Final Design
The final design blends an ambitious structure with thoughtfully crafted graphics, honouring the legacy of Teacher's 50. We collaborated closely with the local manufacturer to ensure that the pack's embellishments, gloss finishes, and embossing were executed as intended.

Teachers Buddy

Creating a premium on-the-go format for Teachers Whiskey.

The Challenge
Our task was to bring the Teacher’s proposition to more diverse drinking occasions, by creating a portable and contemporary pack, that delivered the premium proposition on-the-go. Our new Buddy Bottle is curved for the perfect pocket fit, making drinking Teacher’s a fully portable and accessible experience. Whilst decreasing the bottle size, we were able to turn up the volume on the brand

Creating a Launch Video
As part of the project, I was tasked with creating a short animation for the product launch. This was an amazing learning opportunity, as I had never created an animation before. I taught myself the entire process, from creating a storyboard and selecting music to rendering the final animation.

Promoting the Proposition
We also expanded the brand by designing countertop POS stands for shops and bars, as well as a range of communication pieces, to promote the new product format. For the two mock-ups below, I used images generated by Midjourney to create backgrounds that authentically match the Indian market where they will be placed.
